The first driver -- a 31-year-old Waldwick man -- refused medical attention after his Ford Explorer slammed into a utility pole on Washington Avenue near Koch Peak at 10:55 p.m. Friday, township Police Lt. Richard Skinner told Daily Voice.
Washington Avenue still remained closed in both directions early Saturday afternoon between Calvin Street and Lafayette Avenue while PSE&G made repairs.
Alcohol wasn't a factor in that crash -- although it was in the second, Skinner said.
At 11:11 p.m., a 20-year-old Park Ridge man who'd just come off the Garden State Parkway at Exit 168 went straight instead of left or right, slamming his 2017 BMW into a guard rail, the lieutenant said.
The smashed-up Beamer was impounded, while the driver -- who also wasn't injured -- was taken to police headquarters.
He was charged with DWI, reckless driving and running a stop sign and released to a responsible adult pending a court hearing.
